Virtual Slobs

What’s worse than a sloppy home? A sloppy home page! At least, there’s the excuse of expense or cost involved with maintaining a home - people do have money troubles.

But there’s no excuse for a slipshod homepage. Error messages all over, poor color coordination, misaligned columns, and the like. Not with all the resources available on the net. You can find a directory of web resources, that could provide the novice with all that’s required.

Need a good template? It’s there, for free. Clipart, tools, scripts, counters ?? Yes, Sir! News items or other content? Just a search away.

Or looking for other sites, for ideas? Use a directory, or randomly surf the net - or even search as required. It doesn’t take too much effort, and in most cases, it’s available for free.

With all of this available, why would you still want to be a slob? Unless, of course, that’s your choice.

Slob houses

Why don’t some people take pride in their homes? Why do they allow it to become an eyesore, sticking out like a sore thumb in an otherwise great neighborhood? You’d have seen these - paint peeling from the walls, odd unsightly stains, crooked tiles or awnings, overgrown gardens and a general aura of lack of care.

I could understand it in a shantytown - but not in a decent neighborhood. And it doesn’t take too much time or money. All it needs is that little bit of attention now and then.

Get the lawn mowed; if you’re feeling too lazy, get a kid around the block to do it for you. A coat of paint doesn’t cost the earth and does wonders for the appearance. Remember to sandpaper off the old paint first, to get rid of the stains and peeling patches, and give a uniform finish.

Now add some home & garden decor - a bird bath, some garden chairs or a hammock, or even a pond or fountain if you feel like it. For the rooms that face outside, change the curtains, add some lamps and give a cheery look. Or add a flag! It does wonders to how the place looks, and doesn’t take any maintenance.

Whatever - just get rid of the slob look!

Miserly Misanthropes

Especially those who watch TV. I guess that’s a tautology - you gotta be a misanthrope to watch TV. Leaving aside the football widow syndrome, what do you get to watch? News about who got killed, or injured, or slandered someone else. Painful episodes watching oh so gorgeous looking folks do the most inane things.

Once in a way you might get something good. Like Eddie Murphy playing Holy Man, and making a parody out of a “As sold on TV” show. But more often than not, you don’t get the parody - just the pitch. With the inevitable commercial break that makes no sense at all; the whole show’s a commercial break, why rub it in?

But at least, you couldn’t be a miser over it. Not while cable charges are what they are. At least, until now.

TVproducts4Less. Giving the miser in you the ultimate.

And forget all that blah about NetTV requiring broadband, a huge pipe, and paying through your nose. The very same ultra-great quality products in the most economical package. After all, who needs the pitch, the jingle, the constant repetition and animation, when you can save a couple of bucks?

No TV. No cable. No noise, no commercial breaks, nothing but great products and even greater savings. And you know the people who came up with this are folks after your own heart.

Why else would they have economised on “Recommended reading” with descriptions of the articles on sale? A touch of two birds with one stone, obviously.

Go ahead, indulge yourself. Just think about the huge savings. Again. And Again.

Idiot Box online

Opium for the masses. That’s what most Indian movies are all about. Dreams larger than life, 7 impossible things before breakfast, coincidences that stretch beyond rationality.

And the song and dance around trees. Is that some kind of esoteric do-good totem? You’d think there isn’t a deforestation problem worldwide if all you saw were these.

It wouldn’t be so bad if the actors and stars set a good example. But no - poaching, kidnapping, guns and the like - and still there are plenty of people who idolize them.

I guess it takes all kinds to make the world. If Bollywood Movies News is what it takes to make you happy, check out the link.  Indian movie news, Indian music, bollywood actors and actresses, and a forum for you to talk some more. Plus interviews with movie producers and Bollywood stars. In short,  nothing but unadulterated Bollywood.

Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
